Ambassador

The Guest Experience is our priority at the Loden Hotel. We combine approachable hospitality with luxury accommodations that offer a uniquely elevated guest experience.

The AMBASSADOR role within the Guest Experience Department is a new role.

A brief scope of responsibilities are:

  • Engaging hospitality at all times, acknowledging everyone within your immediate proximity and exchanging hospitable eye contact at all times
  • As Ambassador, you represent the Loden at all times – ensuring your personal presentation, uniform and body posture reflect our luxury brand
  • Consistent “Safe Work Practices” while on duty
  • Share your knowledge of Vancouver with guests, visitors and neighbours
  • Respectful to all guests, sensitive and intuitive to their personal needs
  • Ensure communication with fellow colleagues is professional at all times and not casual in our luxury boutique setting
  • Courteous and professional verbal communication, without slang or negative descriptions. Recommended responses are “my/our please, you’re welcome, happy to help, absolutely, of course, anytime, I would be delighted”
  • Taking care of guest items, luggage handling at arrival, departure and storage
  • Delivery of hospitality welcome amenities
  • Delivery of requested items by guests (such as ice, additional hangers, luggage racks, iron, etc.)
  • Deliver and service for In Room Dining
  • Supporting team during “crunch periods,” in any capacity
  • Class 5 driver’s license with current consistently responsible drivers abstract from ICBC, to provide service by escorting/driving guests in the Loden Cab
  • Providing support and assistance as requested or required by the Manager-On-Duty
  • Supporting colleagues in emergency procedures, practical knowledge of the emergency panel
  • Taking care of guest cycling requests, setting up, preparing and ensuring safety first for our guests with the Electra Townie bike fleet. Providing general instruction to guests
  • Timely reporting of any repair deficiencies to Engineering or Cab/Bike fleet management
  • Taking care of other touch points as needed, such as guest shoe shine, or coordinating urgent dry cleaning/valet services
  • Visible supportive presence as often as possible in the hotel lobby, meeting and greeting or fare-welling guests
  • Ensuring that hotel ambience is in tune – with all five senses, an organized and clean surrounding
  • The Ambassador provides key touch points for the guest experience, such as taking photos, etc.

Experience Assistant – (Front Office/Guest Experience Team)

Welcoming guests as they arrive and assisting them towards their next journey is what the Experience Assistant takes care of. Strong communication skills, respectful etiquette and the ability to converse in additional languages will be recognized for higher potential during the application process.

The Experience Assistant also shares what it is to “live like a Vancouverite.” This role requires quick intuitive thinking, while on your feet, in addition to being well versed in the use of Property Management Systems. The Experience Assistant requires a strong understanding of hotel services and through discovery, will learn how such services can connect with our guest needs.

Time management and a committed sense of urgency translates into prompt delivery of our services.

Room Experience Specialist – Room Attendant

Your attentiveness, efficiency and commitment coupled with working closely with other members of the Housekeeping Team, will ensure our guests rooms are cleaned to the highest standard – and our guests feel valued.Summary of Responsibilities – Reporting to the executive Housekeeper, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Clean all assigned guestrooms including: dusting, making beds, soiled linen removal from rooms, and retrieval of clean linen from linen closets, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, inside window cleaning, replenish rooms with supplies
  • Sign in and out master keys daily
  • Maintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Update and record all cleaned rooms
  • Return and properly tag all lost and found articles in the Housekeeping Office
  • Follow department policies and procedures and service standards
  • Report necessary maintenance items
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • Other duties assigned

Our ideal candidate:

  • Previous housekeeping experience is an asset (but not a strict requirement)
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical aspects of position:

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
  • Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and ramps

Description Valet Attendant

Under the direction of the Guest Experience Manager, you play a key role in our guest arrival and departure experiences, caring for all of those who enter and leave our doors.

  • Provide seamless and efficient valet car service.
  • Act as an energetic and commanding presence at the Front Door, Front Drive and Lobby Areas.

  • Possess an eye for the smallest detail and maintains a keen sense of urgency.
  • Is physically active and fit to perform some of the key labor intensive functions of the role (i.e. can lift upwards of 75-100lbs)
  • Maintains a flexible performance schedule to accommodate the operational needs of a 24/7 hotel environment.
